This Kate Bush music map puts her studio albums in order, from her 1978 debut to the later, quietly experimental works of the 2000s and 2010s. What’s in My Music Map?

This map covers all of Kate Bush’s studio albums, from her teenage breakthrough right through to her layered and introspective later works. It includes every credited musician, backing vocalist, and collaborator. Long-time contributors like Del Palmer are present throughout, as are one-off appearances from figures like Prince and Nigel Kennedy.

Each individual’s contribution is shown as a distinct coloured line running through the album timeline. It’s all based on detailed spreadsheet research, tracking exactly who played on each record. The map doesn’t include live albums or compilations, just the core studio discography. All laid out in the tube-style design, I use it to make things clear without oversimplifying.

Why I Designed This Music Map

Kate Bush’s catalogue is unlike anyone else’s. And what struck me most while researching was just how distinct each album’s musical team was. Her sound evolved in leaps, and the personnel did too. Mapping it like this helped clarify those shifts, how certain names reappear or vanish between projects, and how her control over the arrangements grew. I wanted to give that some shape. I think this map does that without reducing the work to bullet points or categories. It lets the structure of the music speak for itself.
