Refund policy

Returns and refunds at Mike Bell Maps

I want you to be completely happy with your art print. This page explains how returns and refunds work, whether you simply change your mind or something has gone wrong.

A note on how my prints are made

I produce my data map artworks out of house, through a vetted production partner, to ensure the highest quality and consistent results. Because these are short-run, hand-researched art prints, you may very occasionally find a minor characteristic such as a slight ink mark or print variation on the reverse of a piece. This is a natural part of producing artisanal Giclée prints and reflects the hands-on nature of my work.

If you change your mind

If you are not pleased with your art print, you can return it within 30 days of receipt. This is more generous than the 14-day cancellation period that UK consumers are entitled to by law, and it is my way of ensuring you can buy with confidence.

To qualify for a change-of-mind return, the print must be in its original, unused, unmarked condition and returned in its original packaging. Return postage is your responsibility, and I recommend a tracked service, as I cannot refund an item that does not reach me.

Please post returns to: Mike Bell, 1 Peerland Mews, High Street, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 1EH.

If your print is faulty or arrives damaged

This is different from a change of mind, and your rights are stronger. If your print is faulty or damaged in transit, you are entitled to a replacement or a full refund, and I will cover the cost. Please check your parcel as soon as it arrives and email me at mike@mikebellmaps.com within 24 hours of delivery, including clear photographs of:

  • the shipping label on the parcel,
  • the damaged packaging, and
  • the damaged print itself.

Those photos and that quick turnaround are what let me make a successful claim with my production partner and get a replacement to you at no cost. Please keep all the packaging until everything is resolved, as it may be needed for the claim. For a faulty or damaged item, I do not ask for the print to be returned in its original condition, and you will not be out of pocket for return costs.

How refunds are processed

Once I have received your return and inspected it, or once a damage claim is confirmed, I will email you about the status of your refund. Approved refunds are credited to your original payment method. For a change-of-mind return, I refund the price of the print and the standard outbound delivery fee you paid; the cost of returning the item to me is your responsibility. For a faulty or damaged item, I refund the full amount, including delivery.
