Art Prints For Music Lovers
by Mike Bell
·
I started out on this art for music fans project, in the middle of Covid lockdown, mapping one band at a time, to plot every musician across every album to show how human connection, and disconnection, is key to higher creative output.
What began as a passion project has evolved into a unique collection of art for music lovers that celebrates the human connections (and disconnections) that drive creative output in the music industry.
The Origin Story: Mapping The Fall
My journey into creating art for music fans began with The Fall, the legendary post-punk band known for their extensive lineup changes and prolific output. After more than 15 attempts and invaluable input from dedicated music fans and even a band member, I perfected the first map. Through this intensive creative process, I established the rules and routes that would define all my subsequent discography maps. You can explore this groundbreaking piece in our The Fall Albums Music Map.

The concept was clear: create visual representations that show how musicians move through a band's history, highlighting the creative chemistry that produces iconic albums and the changes that reshape a band's sound.
