The Liam Gallagher albums in order run across three bands and thirty years: seven with Oasis from 1994, two with Beady Eye, and four under his own name up to Liam Gallagher & John Squire in 2024. Thirteen studio albums on one route, drawn as stations, with all 108 credited musicians running through them as lines.

Those 13 are the studio records only. Live albums, compilations and singles are left off this map, as they are across my whole range.

I built it from the album credits rather than from memory, and the thing that came out of the research was not the line-up changes. It was the head count. The debut has six people on it. One of the solo albums has thirty-three.

Read left to right and the story is not the one people tell. The Oasis years are a band getting slowly smaller, from eleven on Be Here Now down to seven by 2008. Beady Eye starts narrower still, at six.

Then it opens right out. The solo records are the crowded ones, and the crowd peaks at 33 in 2022 before collapsing to five in 2024, the narrowest station on the whole print.

Noel's Line Stops at Station Seven and Never Restarts

Noel Gallagher is credited on all seven Oasis albums, from Definitely Maybe to Dig Out Your Soul, on guitars, bass, piano, keyboards and lead vocals on a fair number of tracks. Then his line ends at 2008 and does not reappear anywhere on the rest of the print.

Six stations follow with no Noel on any of them. On a map that absence is the loudest thing on the page, because it is drawn as empty space where a line used to be rather than described in a sentence.

Liam's own line is the only one that reaches all thirteen. Lead vocals throughout, plus tambourine on all but the last record, and acoustic guitar and tin whistle from Dig Out Your Soul onwards.

Bonehead and Guigsy Get Three Stations Each

The original Oasis rhythm section is shorter on this map than most people expect. Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs is credited on the first three albums only, and so is Paul "Guigsy" McGuigan. Both lines stop after Be Here Now in 1997.

Tony McCarroll is shorter still. He drums on the whole of Definitely Maybe and then on exactly one track of Morning Glory, "Some Might Say", and that is his entire recorded contribution. Alan White covers the rest of that album and runs on through Heathen Chemistry, four stations in all.

The longest Oasis-era lines after the brothers belong to Gem Archer and Andy Bell. Both arrive on Heathen Chemistry in 2002 and carry straight through the split and across both Beady Eye records, five stations each. Their lines cross a band boundary that the band members themselves treated as final.

The Guests Are Stranger Than the Line-Up

Because this map runs across three projects, it gathers a guest list that no single band would produce.

Mark Coyle is the one that makes the rule visible. He is best known as the man behind the desk on the early Oasis records, and on my maps producing does not earn you a line. He is on this one because the credits put him on backwards guitar on Be Here Now and on electric sitar the album after. Playing something is the only door in.

Zak Starkey is the other good one. Ringo Starr's son drumming on two Oasis albums is the kind of connection a list of sleeves will never show you, and on the map it sits as a short two-station line right where the band was supposedly falling apart.

C'mon You Know Is a String Section Wearing a Parka

Thirty-three credited musicians on one album, and most of the extra weight is strings, with Dave Grohl on drums on top of it. That is more names than Definitely Maybe, Morning Glory and Be Here Now carry between them, which is 24.

Then Liam Gallagher & John Squire in 2024 drops to five people, the narrowest station on the whole print. Two albums, two years apart, 33 down to five. The man who spent the nineties fronting a five-piece made his widest record nearly three decades later.

Greg Kurstin Runs the Last Four Stations in a Row

Greg Kurstin appears on the last four albums in a row: As You Were, Why Me? Why Not., C'mon You Know and the John Squire record, playing bass, drums, guitars, keyboards and a good deal else.

Four consecutive stations is more than Bonehead managed, more than Guigsy managed, and more than Alan White or Zak Starkey. Only Liam, Noel, Gem Archer and Andy Bell hold longer runs, and Kurstin is a producer and multi-instrumentalist from Los Angeles who was nowhere near Manchester in 1994.

Andrew Wyatt is close behind on three of the solo records. Neither name is what a fan expects to find when they lean in, which is exactly the reason I draw the credits rather than the sleeves.

All three, plotted as one continuous route in release order, because they are one singer's recorded career even though they were three different bands.
