In short: A Foo Fighters discography tube map art print that draws every credited musician as a tube line, with Foo Fighters, The Colour and the Shape, Wasting Light and But Here We Are as the stations where those lines converge, connected directly into the Nirvana catalogue through Dave Grohl's drum line. A considered gift for Foo Fighters fans and music lovers, ready to frame and give. Giclée on 230gsm textured matte fine art paper, archival and acid-free. Available in A2 or A1 (US sizing 24x18in and 36x24in), unframed or in a black wooden frame. Hand-researched and designed by me in East Sussex.

I designed this Foo Fighters discography map so every credited musician runs as their own named line, calling at each studio album they played on, drawn in the style of a classic tube map. The stations run chronologically from the one-man debut Foo Fighters, through The Colour and the Shape and Wasting Light, to But Here We Are and the records in between, with one-off contributors branching off as short spurs. It is wall art for fans who know every era, and a ready-made gift for anyone who came in through the singles.

Why this Foo Fighters discography tube map art makes a gift fans keep

If you are buying for a Foo Fighters fan, this goes past the obvious present. I research every map by hand, checking release dates and running order so the sequence is right, which lets the person receiving it follow the band's route across the decades and back into Nirvana. It makes a birthday or Christmas gift for the Foo Fighters fan in your life, the kind of present that gets framed and kept rather than opened once and shelved.

Contributing musicians on the map

Dave Grohl's line runs continuously from his drum credit on Nirvana's Nevermind through to every Foo Fighters album, fifteen of the sixteen records on the map. Pat Smear crosses bands too, touring guitarist on Nirvana's In Utero before joining Foo Fighters for nine studio albums. Nate Mendel's bass runs across twelve Foo Fighters records, and Taylor Hawkins drummed on ten albums from The Colour and the Shape onward. The map also includes Hail Satin, the 2021 Bee Gees tribute recorded as the Dee Gees, a distinct branch line off the main Foo Fighters route.

How I make each print

Each one is a Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper with a textured matte finish, archival and acid-free, so the colours hold for years. Choose A2 or A1, unframed or supplied in a black wooden frame, ready to hang as art prints in a hallway, living room or studio.

Size UK USA / CAN / AUS equivalent Orientation
A2 594 x 420 mm (23 x 16 in) 24 x 18 in Landscape
A1 841 x 594 mm (33 x 23 in) 36 x 24 in Landscape
