A gift for Edwyn Collins fans who are tired of him being reduced to one 1994 single, because this maps fourteen records from Orange Juice onwards, with each credited musician on their own line. They own the records already. The busiest part of this map is the part that comes after the hit.

Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper, textured matte, archival and acid-free. Produced unframed or framed. Deeply researched and designed by me in East Sussex.

I plot these in CAD software. Every credited musician becomes a transit line, every album becomes a station, and anyone who appears only once gets a branch line of their own.

The stations run chronologically from You Can't Hide Your Love Forever in 1982 to Badbea in 2025, covering the three Orange Juice albums, the solo run, and a film soundtrack.

Why this Edwyn Collins discography tube map art makes a gift fans keep

The guest list on the solo records is stranger than the one on the Orange Juice records. A Sex Pistol, a member of The Fall and the singer of Aztec Camera all turn up on it.

The later stations also settle, with the same handful of names recurring for over a decade. The full story on your wall.

Contributing musicians on the map

Edwyn Collins is the only line that runs the full width. The Orange Juice stations carry James Kirk, Steven Daly, David McClymont and Malcolm Ross, with Zeke Manyika joining on drums and Dennis Bovell producing and playing.

Paul Cook, the drummer from the Sex Pistols, has the longest guest line in the print. He plays on five of Orange Juice's solo albums, which is more than anyone else from the band manages.

Mark E. Smith of The Fall appears once, on I'm Not Following You in 1997. That record also brings in Vic Godard of Subway Sect and Boz Boorer.

Roddy Frame of Aztec Camera plays on an early solo album, and Mel Gaynor, Phil Thornalley, Dick Morrissey and David Ruffy all take short runs across the 1980s and 1990s.

The latter part of the map is the steadiest. Sean Read, Carwyn Ellis, Sebastian Lewsley, Barrie Cadogan and James Walbourne recur across the records from Home Again onwards, so the last third of the print reads as a band rather than a series of sessions.

How do I make each print?

Each one is a Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper with a textured matte finish, archival and acid-free, so the colours hold for years. Choose A2 or A1, unframed or framed, ready to hang in a hallway, living room or studio.

Size UK USA / CAN / AUS equivalent Orientation
A2 594 x 420 mm (23 x 16 in) 24 x 18 in Landscape
A1 841 x 594 mm (33 x 23 in) 36 x 24 in Landscape

FAQ

Is Orange Juice on the map?
Yes, all three albums, with the full band as separate lines.

Is a Sex Pistol really on it?
Yes. Paul Cook drums on five of the solo albums, the longest guest line on the print.

Is Mark E. Smith on the map?
Yes, on I'm Not Following You in 1997.

How far does the map run?
To Badbea in 2025, so the solo catalogue takes up far more of the print than Orange Juice does.

Is the map in release order?
Yes. The stations run chronologically from 1982 onwards.

What are the framing options?
Unframed, or supplied framed and ready to hang.
