About Edwyn Collins:
Edwyn Collins is a Scottish singer-songwriter, record producer and record label owner. He is best known as the lead singer and main songwriter of the band Orange Juice, which formed in Glasgow in 1979. Orange Juice was one of the first bands to be associated with the post-punk and new-wave movements, and released several albums and singles throughout the 1980s.
In the early 1990s, Collins embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut solo album, "Hope and Despair" in 1993. His most successful solo album was "Gorgeous George" in 1994, which featured the hit single "A Girl Like You" which was a hit in several countries. He also released several other solo albums, including "Doctor Syntax" (2002), "Home Again" (2006) and "Understated" (2013).
In 2005, Collins suffered a severe brain haemorrhage, which left him in a coma for several weeks and with significant brain damage. He underwent a long recovery process and has since made a remarkable comeback as a musician. He is also known for his record label and publishing company, AED Records and also AED Records, which he founded in the early 1990s and has released music by various artists, including his own solo work.
