Deep Purple is a British rock band formed in 1968. They are considered to be one of the pioneers of heavy metal and modern hard rock, although their music has also incorporated elements of blues, funk, and psychedelic rock.
The band's most famous line-up consisted of Ritchie Blackmore, Ian Gillan, Roger Glover, Jon Lord, and Ian Paice. Their most famous songs include "Smoke on the Water," "Hush," "Black Night," and "Child in Time."
