Their individual stories are represented as coloured lines running across the film's timeline — from street-level chases to rooftop reflections. It shows how their paths intersect, who drives the story forward, and how the scenes interlock.
I built this from scene-by-scene notes and cross-referenced character movements, skipping voiceover details or alternative cuts — just the theatrical release’s essential structure. It’s not designed to explain everything, to show the structure you might not spot at first glance.
Why I Designed This Plot Map
*Blade Runner* has always felt carefully structured, but the mood and atmosphere often obscure that structure. Scenes blur, characters drift, and memory becomes unreliable. Mapping it gave me a clearer sense of how it’s built. And even though I’ve watched it dozens of times, drawing this map helped me notice how carefully Roy’s story is balanced against Deckard’s. The map doesn’t answer questions about who is or isn’t a Replicant, but it does show how they all move through the same world.
