What Are Music Discography Maps - Research-Led Tube Map Art Prints for Serious Fans

Each map in this collection turns a musician's complete recording history into a structured, readable network - the kind of visual you'll return to again and again, each time noticing something new.

Mike Bell's discography music maps use the logic of the London Underground to organise complexity: every studio album becomes a station, every musician and collaborator becomes a line. The result is not a poster - it is a data-driven art print that rewards close reading and genuine knowledge of the subject.

How to Read Every Unique Music Map

Navigate the Music Discography Maps - Every Album - Every Artist

Exploring the music maps is as easy as navigating your local transit map - albeit some bands and underground systems are more detailed than others!

  • Each album is indicated as a station/intersection of lines.
  • Each line is a credited musician - group member, session musician, guest or other artist
  • Track the artist appearances as a one-off, regular band member, regular session musician, or guest.
  • Discover connections and credits often only found on sleeve notes and in music biographies - all in one place.

What Makes These Music Maps Different?

Built from primary research

Every map begins with the source material: official album liner notes, session records, verified musician credits, producer interviews, and archived discography databases. Mike cross-references multiple sources for every connection on every map, and welcomes corrections from fans and artists - contributors who spot genuine errors receive discounts on future orders.

Designed with CAD precision

Mike uses professional CAD software to build each map - not illustration tools, and not AI generation. The spatial logic of the transit map format is maintained throughout: parallel lines, consistent station spacing, and legible typography at A1 and A2 print sizes. At large format, every name is readable and every connection traceable.

Recognised by the artists themselves

These maps have been reviewed and praised by musicians, official archives, and producers directly - not fans writing Amazon reviews, but the people who made the music.

"It's a brilliant idea… really like what you've done, Mike."

— Billy Bragg

Who These Music Maps Are For

These are not impulse gifts. They are for the fan who already owns every album, who knows the session musicians by name, who has read the liner notes twice. A Mike Bell music map gives that knowledge a visual form - something to hang on a wall and return to across years.

They work equally well as gifts: specific enough to feel considered, detailed enough to be genuinely surprising even to someone who thinks they know the discography inside out. Available in A2 (study, bedroom, office) and A1 (living room, hallway) sizes, framed and ready to hang.

About Mike Bell

Every map is independently researched and hand-built - no templates, no generative tools, no shortcuts.
