A gift for Paul Weller fans who know the solo records inside out but not who is actually on them, because this charts all 21 releases with every credited musician as their own line. They already own the records, and both of his old bands turn up here in ways the albums never show.

Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper, textured matte, archival and acid-free. Produced unframed or framed. Deeply researched and designed by me in East Sussex.

I plot these in CAD software. Every credited musician becomes a transit line, every album becomes a station, and anyone who appears only once gets a branch line of their own.

The stations run chronologically from the 1992 debut, through Wild Wood and Stanley Rd, on through 22 Dreams and Wake Up the Nation, to On Sunset and 66.

This is the solo catalogue. The Jam and the Style Council were separate bands with their own line-ups, so they are not plotted here as albums. They arrive on the map another way, which is the part most people find surprising.

Why this Paul Weller discography map art print makes a gift fans keep

Thirty years of records with a rotating cast produce a map that never settles into a single shape. One line holds it together besides Weller's, and it is not the one most fans would name.

The other reward is the way his past keeps reappearing without ever being an album on the sheet.

The musicians on the map

Steve Cradock of Ocean Colour Scene has the longest line after Weller himself, credited on 18 of the 21 releases, from Wild Wood in 1993 to 66 in 2024. Steve White drums on the first ten, and Andy Crofts and Steve Pilgrim carry the later years.

Both of the bands Weller led before this catalogue began to turn up in it. Bruce Foxton of The Jam appears once, on Wake Up the Nation, and Steve Brookes, who founded The Jam with Weller and left before its first single, plays on three albums between 2015 and 2020.

Mick Talbot of the Style Council spans 1993 to 2020, and Dee C. Lee sings on the first two records.

Noel Gallagher is credited on five albums: Stanley Rd, Illumination, 22 Dreams, Sonik Kicks and True Meanings. Steve Winwood, Jools Holland, Graham Coxon of Blur, Robert Wyatt, Kevin Shields of My Bloody Valentine, Bev Bevan and Clem Cattini all appear at different points.

Wake Up the Nation is the strangest gathering of the lot, putting Foxton, Coxon, Shields, Bevan and Cattini on one record, with the Woking Gay Community Choir singing on it.

Studio 150, named in 2004 after the Amsterdam studio where it was recorded, is the busiest station on the whole print, built almost entirely by Dutch players. Three Wellers sing on the later albums: Hannah, Leah and Mac.

How do I make each print?

Each one is a Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper with a textured matte finish, archival and acid-free, so the colours hold for years. Choose A2 or A1, unframed or framed, ready to hang in a hallway, living room or studio.

Size UK USA / CAN / AUS equivalent Orientation
A2 594 x 420 mm (23 x 16 in) 24 x 18 in Landscape
A1 841 x 594 mm (33 x 23 in) 36 x 24 in Landscape

FAQ

Does the map include The Jam and The Style Council?
Not as albums. This map plots the solo catalogue, 21 releases from 1992 to 2024. Both earlier bands are represented by their musicians: Bruce Foxton and Steve Brookes from The Jam, and Mick Talbot and Dee C. Lee from The Style Council.

Are the live albums on it, or only the studio records?
Both are plotted as one route in release order.

Who are the longest-serving musicians on the map?
Steve Cradock on guitar, credited on 18 of the 21 releases, and Steve White on drums across the first ten.

Did Noel Gallagher really guest on Paul Weller's records?
Yes, on five of them: Stanley Rd, Illumination, 22 Dreams, Sonik Kicks and True Meanings.

Which album has the most musicians?
Studio 150, recorded in Amsterdam and built almost entirely by Dutch players.

What are the framing options?
Unframed, or supplied framed and ready to hang.

Related music maps

The closest companions come off the credits rather than the genre shelf. Noel Gallagher has five stations on this map, which makes the Noel Gallagher discography map the natural pair, and Jools Holland's credit on Heavy Soul connects it to the Squeeze discography map.

The link that runs the other way is the Who discography map, because Weller sang and played on their Royal Albert Hall album and has a station on it. For the same era and audience, the Stranglers discography map sits alongside it.
