A gift for Liam Gallagher fans who think the story stopped in 2009, because this follows the voice through Oasis, Beady Eye and the solo records with every credited musician as their own line. They own the Oasis albums already. This is the fifteenth year since.
Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper, textured matte, archival and acid-free. Produced unframed or framed. Deeply researched and designed by me in East Sussex.
I plot these in CAD software. Every credited musician becomes a transit line, every album becomes a station, and anyone who appears only once gets a branch line of their own.
The stations run chronologically from Definitely Maybe in 1994, through the Beady Eye records, to the solo albums and the 2024 collaboration with John Squire.
Why this Liam Gallagher discography tube map art makes a gift fans keep
The Oasis half of this map is the part everyone knows. The half after it is where the surprises are, because the solo records pull in people no Oasis fan would predict.
Drawn as lines, the 2009 split ceases to be an argument and becomes a junction. It rewards every closer look.
Contributing musicians on the map
Liam runs the full length. Noel's line runs beside him for the seven Oasis albums and then stops dead.
Bonehead and Guigsy cover the first three records, Tony McCarroll drums on the debut and one track of Morning Glory, and Alan White takes over for four. Gem Archer and Andy Bell arrive at Heathen Chemistry and are the only two who carry straight through the split into Beady Eye, with Chris Sharrock drumming on both.
The Oasis-era guests are the famous ones. Paul Weller plays lead guitar and sings on Champagne Supernova, and Johnny Depp plays slide guitar on Be Here Now.
Beady Eye's second album, Be, is produced by David Andrew Sitek of TV on the Radio and carries the strangest credit on the map: the actor Kayvan Novak.
The solo records widen considerably. Greg Kurstin and Andrew Wyatt run through all three, with Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs on two, and As You Were adding a full brass and string section.
C'mon You Know is the busiest station of the later run. Dave Grohl plays drums, Ezra Koenig of Vampire Weekend appears, and Stephen Street, who produced The Smiths, plays bass. On the album before it, Liam's son Gene plays bongos.
How do I make each print?
Each one is a Giclée on 230gsm premium fine art paper with a textured matte finish, archival and acid-free, so the colours hold for years. Choose A2 or A1, unframed or framed, ready to hang in a hallway, living room or studio.
| Size | UK | USA / CAN / AUS equivalent | Orientation |
|---|---|---|---|
| A2 | 594 x 420 mm (23 x 16 in) | 24 x 18 in | Landscape |
| A1 | 841 x 594 mm (33 x 23 in) | 36 x 24 in | Landscape |
