About The Rolling Stones:
The Rolling Stones is a legendary British rock band formed in London in 1962. The original line-up consisted of Mick Jagger (vocals), Keith Richards (guitar), Brian Jones (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass), Charlie Watts (drums), and Ian Stewart (piano). The band's early music was heavily influenced by blues and R&B, and they quickly became known for their high-energy live performances.
The Rolling Stones released their self-titled debut album in 1964, which featured covers of songs by American blues artists such as Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf. The album was a commercial success and helped establish the band as a major force in the British Invasion of the United States.
Over the next few years, the Rolling Stones released a series of hit albums, including "Out of Our Heads" (1965), "Aftermath" (1966), and "Between the Buttons" (1967). During this time, the band also became known for its controversial and rebellious image, which included drug use and run-ins with the law.
In 1969, the Rolling Stones released their classic album "Let It Bleed," which included the hit singles "Gimme Shelter" and "You Can't Always Get What You Want." The album marked a shift in the band's sound towards a more hard-edged rock style.
Tragically, Brian Jones died in July 1969, and the Rolling Stones continued as a four-piece band. The band's next album, "Sticky Fingers" (1971), was a critical and commercial success and included the hit single "Brown Sugar." The band continued to release successful albums throughout the 1970s, including "Exile on Main St." (1972) and "Some Girls" (1978).
In the 1980s and 1990s, the Rolling Stones continued to tour and release new music, though their popularity waned somewhat compared to their earlier heyday. The band's line-up remained largely unchanged, with Jagger, Richards, Watts, and Ronnie Wood (who replaced Mick Taylor in 1975) continuing to perform together.
Despite some internal tensions over the years, the Rolling Stones have remained one of the most influential and beloved rock bands of all time. They have sold over 200 million records worldwide and have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band continues to tour and perform, and their music remains a staple of classic rock radio.
