About The Charlatans:

The Charlatans are an English rock band formed in the West Midlands in 1989. The original line-up consisted of vocalist Tim Burgess, guitarist Jon Baker, keyboardist Rob Collins, bassist Martin Blunt, and drummer Jon Brookes. The band was initially called The Charlatans UK in the United States to avoid confusion with a 1960s American band of the same name.

The Charlatans released their debut album, "Some Friendly," in 1990, which included the hit single "The Only One I Know." The album was well-received by critics and helped establish the band's unique sound, which blended elements of indie rock, dance music, and psychedelic rock.

Over the next decade, The Charlatans released several successful albums, including "Between 10th and 11th" (1992), "Up to Our Hips" (1994), and "Tellin' Stories" (1997). During this time, the band faced several challenges, including the death of drummer Jon Brookes in 2013 and the imprisonment of keyboardist Rob Collins for armed robbery in 1996.

Despite these setbacks, The Charlatans continued to release music and tour throughout the 2000s and 2010s. They have released a total of thirteen studio albums, including "Different Days" in 2017 and "19th Overground" in 2021.

Throughout their career, The Charlatans have remained a popular and influential band in the UK music scene, known for their energetic live shows and catchy, melodic songs. They have also been recognized for their support of various charitable causes, including cancer research and the fight against homelessness.
