About John Lydon:
John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, is an English singer, songwriter, and musician who rose to fame as the lead vocalist of the punk rock band, the Sex Pistols. The Sex Pistols, who formed in 1975, were one of the most influential and controversial bands of the punk rock movement and are often credited with sparking the punk rock genre.
After the Sex Pistols disbanded in 1978, Lydon formed the post-punk band Public Image Ltd (PiL), which was known for its experimental and eclectic musical style. PiL released several critically acclaimed albums, including "Metal Box" and "The Flowers of Romance."
Throughout his career, Lydon has been known for his confrontational and outspoken personality, as well as his distinctive singing style and lyrics that frequently address political and social issues. He has been a significant influence on the punk rock and post-punk movements and continues to perform and record music with PiL.
In addition to his music career, Lydon has also been involved in various other media and cultural projects, including appearing in television shows and commercials, and writing an autobiography, "Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs." Despite his sometimes controversial image, Lydon is widely regarded as one of the most important and influential musicians of the punk rock era.
PiL announced their 11th studio album, "End Of World," which will be released on August 11, 2023, through PiL Official via Cargo UK distribution. The album was written and recorded during the band's 40th-anniversary tour in 2018, and it is their first album in eight years. The lead single "Hawaii" was dedicated to John Lydon's wife, Nora Forster, who passed away in April 2023.
