David Bowie - Mapped

I am pleased to offer up my David Bowie Studio Albums Line-up map - charting Bowie's discography of studio recordings from 'David Bowie (1967) through to his final recording of 'Blackstar' (2016).

That final album saw a pared down production, working with Tony Visconti, who had first partnered Bowie on his second album in 1969 on, what was later called 'Space Oddity'.

The range of artistes involved with Bowie in the studio include John Lennon ('Young Americans', 1975), Iggy Pop and Brian Eno (starting with 'Low' (1977) through to 'Tonight' (1984) and 'The Buddha of Suburbia' (1993), respectively: Tina Turner appeared alongside Bowie on 'Tonight' (1984), Mickey Rourke on 'Never Let Me Down' (1987) Dave Grohl on 'Heathen' (2002), among others.

Blackstar was largely recorded in secret at the Magic Shop and Human Worldwide Studios in New York. Bowie was suffering with liver cancer, and died two days after that album's release.
